Renters insurance defines significant others a little more broadly than most of us do in our vernacular. What renters insurance is really trying to say is "other adult relatives in the household". It's a bit of a mouthful, so we'll stick with "significant others" here.
Changes to your plan like increasing your protection amount, purchasing Power-Ups or adding/removing a significant other are handled by our Member Care team.
Just drop us a line at email@example.com and we'll get you sorted.

Just so you know, your spouse and any kids under 21 are automatically protected by your plan - even if they're not listed. We can also add adult relatives or someone you're in a relationship with for an extra cost (typically between $6-$8 extra per month). This is because we are protecting these new people for the issues they might cause.
However, renters insurance does not do a good job of covering roommates under the same policy. I'm happy to get into the nitty gritty on that, but it turns out that it tends to be better to cover each roommate under their own policy.
If you'd like to remove someone, just let us know, and we'll get that done for you.
