How do I add or remove someone from my plan?

Certain individuals are automatically covered under your plan. Your spouse and any dependent relative (elder parent/grandparent, sick aunt/uncle, etc.), or dependent children in your care are automatically protected by your plan - even if they're not listed. Children are also covered if away at school as long as they are under 25 and lived at the residence prior to going to school. Additionally, individuals 21 and younger that are in the care of the policyholder are also automatically protected by your plan.

 

If you live with your boyfriend or girlfriend, or an adult relative, they are not automatically covered under your plan but you can add them as a “Significant Other.”

 

Changes to your plan like increasing your protection amount, purchasing Power-Ups or adding/removing a “Significant Other” are handled by our Member Care team. Just drop us a line at help@jetty.com and we'll get you sorted. Sending the following information will help speed up the process:

  • The name of the person you'd like to add
  • Their email address
  • Their relationship to you (husband/wife, child, boyfriend/girlfriend, fiancee, adult relative, friend, roommate)
  • Their age

However, renters insurance is not intended to cover roommates under the same policy. I'm happy to get into the nitty gritty on that, but it turns out that it tends to be better to cover each roommate under their own policy.
